HOPE IS A DREAM

By R. Gordon Price, 1987

Now that I am age 43, I spend more time wondering who we all are, and why I am me,

Did we come from just one tiny cell, or is life just a medium, somewhere between heaven and hell, and the garden of Eden?

Was life on Earth devinely planned, or just a great big random blunder, did Adam tell Eve about the theory of the big bang, well I guess we will just have to ponder and wonder.

Questions like these are too big for my small brain, Religion does not seem to provide answers, in fact it drives me insane.

I suppose that every man starts to ask more questions of life the closer he gets to fading away. Should I continue to build a better tomorrow or just live for today?

Just like my hair, the answer is not there, Just like my weight, I don't know my fate, Should I challenge the best, or just take a rest, I hope life is more than a mythological test.

Hope is a dream, will it ever come true, What's the matter with me, is there a task yet undone for me to do, Now that the game is almost half done, did I make any music, did I have any fun, did I save any lives, is the battling all done, Dear Lord send me a sign, I need to know if I have won!

CHORUS: ------- Hope is a dream, hope is a dream, What is my life, without a theme
